Singles Glider Soaring

Ready for a breathtaking experience? How about a day of soaring high above the earth in a glider!

For the flight, you sit in the front seat of one of our 2 seater training gliders and are launched behind a tug plane to 2000 feet above the ground. The instructor, who has a similar set of controls to those in the front, will demonstrate how the glider is controlled, and then, under his watchful eye, will let you have a go on the controls. When it is time to prepare for landing, the instructor will take over the controls again. Depending on the prevailing weather conditions, you could find a thermal and climb to 4~5000 feet, your flight will typically last around 20 minutes.
You will experience effortless flight and unmatched views from above.

CONDITIONS

This trip is less dependent on wind conditions than hang gliding for example, but in high wind or stormy conditions, the trip may need to be rescheduled. We will notify everyone a minimum of 12 hours before the trip if this is the case, and a reschedule date will be offered.

• 9:00 AM Please arrive at 8:45 for check-in.
• RETURN TIME
• Approximately 6:30 PM.
• BRING
• Your lunch, snacks and water.

• Comfortable clothing and shoes, hat, and sunscreen.

From cycling across the United States to leading horse treks through New Zealand to scaling Nepalese peaks, Outdoor Bound guides have real-world outdoor experience. Collectively, they have hiked, biked, climbed and kayaked tens of thousands of miles around the globe.

Whether their professional backgrounds are as teachers, personal trainers, artists, environmentalists or business leaders, they all have an extensive knowledge of the natural world and local history. Each guide has also passed a rigorous guide certification program and is trained in wilderness first aid or as a Wilderness First Responder.

Diverse & Interesting Groups

There is no typical Outdoor Bound participant. While ages typically range from 20 to 50, those who come to experience outdoor adventure range from singles to couples, from lawyers to waiters. They are a mix of women and men. While the group is always diverse, you will certainly feel welcome. Our guides go the extra mile to make the atmosphere of each trip social and fun. Many people in the Outdoor Bound community have forged lasting friendships as a result of our trips.
