Private Wine & Chocolate Tasting Class

A Match Made in Antioxidant Heaven!

Together with Divalicious Chocolate! we have paired a gourmet selection of artisan-made couverture chocolates and four wine varietals, just for our palates.

Jackie Gordon, along with experts from Wine Therapy, will take us through each pairing, giving a detailed explanation of the chocolate-making process, of pairing chocolate and wines, and of the best consumption practices!

This is a sit down event and each attendee will be provided with an individual tasting plate with a raw cacao bean and six artisan, couverture chocolates from some of the world’s finest chocolate makers (e.g., Michel Cluizel, Valrhona, Guittard, etc.) as well as a score sheet, flavor wheel and rating scale to write down thoughts and reactions to each chocolate. Each table will be set with palate cleansers and water as well as wine for tasting.

The couvertures they will be tasting range from extra bitter dark chocolate (86% cacao) to a mild milk chocolate (33% cacao), so there will be chocolates that are bound to appeal to the taste preferences of every person and you will get a clear experience of the chocolates you like best.

This is a fun, interactive, social event and the perfect excuse to eat chocolate mid-week (as if you ever need an excuse to eat chocolate).

Space is limited to 18! Advance registration required.

What Is So Special about This Tasting?

  • It is limited to 18 people and the wines are carefully selected by a resident expert from Wine Therapy.
  • This is not just a tasting — it is a fun, instructional experience!
  • The chocolates are also hand-picked from a global menu by Jackie Gordon, owner of Divalicious Chocolate!. Jackie also performs interactive, theatrical cooking demonstrations, so you know the class will be fun.
  • Like it? Take the taste home: Divalicious will also be extending a discount to purchase any of their wondrous chocolates, and Wine Therapy will remain open after the tasting, so you can walk around the corner and pick up a bottle or two for further indulgence.

Why Outdoor Bound?

Experienced, Fun & Qualified Guides

From cycling across the United States to leading horse treks through New Zealand to scaling Nepalese peaks, Outdoor Bound guides have real-world outdoor experience. Collectively, they have hiked, biked, climbed and kayaked tens of thousands of miles around the globe.

Whether their professional backgrounds are as teachers, personal trainers, artists, environmentalists or business leaders, they all have an extensive knowledge of the natural world and local history. Each guide has also passed a rigorous guide certification program and is trained in wilderness first aid or as a Wilderness First Responder.

Diverse & Interesting Groups

There is no typical Outdoor Bound participant. While ages typically range from 20 to 50, those who come to experience outdoor adventure range from singles to couples, from lawyers to waiters. They are a mix of women and men. While the group is always diverse, you will certainly feel welcome. Our guides go the extra mile to make the atmosphere of each trip social and fun. Many people in the Outdoor Bound community have forged lasting friendships as a result of our trips.

New Experiences

Skydiving, ice-climbing, hot-air ballooning, skiing and hiking every weekend are just a few of Outdoor Bound’s year-round adventures. These trips are accessible to everyone, including the novice, who might feel a little uneasy, the young urban professional trying to get away and even the adrenaline junkie looking for a new rush.

Environmental Awareness

“Leave nothing but footprints, take nothing but pictures,” is the Leave No Trace motto embraced by Outdoor Bound. From purchasing bamboo T-shirts to printing with soy-based inks on recycled paper, Outdoor Bound strives to create the least environmental impact possible while on trips and in the office.

Testimonials

The Great Escape might be my new favorite hike with Outdoor Bound. It was pretty strenuous with a bunch of crazy climbs and descents, and the foliage was like something out of a Bob Ross painting. Dann was a fantastic guide and kept us entertained and informed all day long. I’m always up for a good challenge and this hike definitely fit the bill. — Janna
