No partner required. A fun evening of dance, drinks, dinner and exciting Flamenco performed by professionals. Meet fun, adventurous men and women who aren’t afraid to have a drink and learn a dance step or two. Flamenco is a very expressive, percussive type of dance that is NOT partner-dependent. While you may have seen pairs in performance, it is not compulsory to the dance form--especially as you are learning. This is the perfect fun event to try on your own or with a few friends! First, loosen up with a refreshing Sangria. Next, our flamenco instructor La Magdalena, based in New York City and Seville, Spain will greet us and give a 30-minute introductory lesson. This will help you understand and appreciate the performance we enjoy during dinner at L’Orange Bleue. We will get a taste of playing palmas (rhythmic hand-clapping), teach our feet to taconear, and may even try to move fluidly and confidently to the music with some marcaje. Finally, we’ll settle in for the Flamenco performance (3 sets) over a delicious and inventive dinner...”some dishes come from the Basque Country, others from Provence and the cosmopolitan city of Marseille, our home.
