Outdoor Bound Youth Programs

Climb, Raft, Camp, Ski or Hike with Other Youth!

Outdoor Bound offers an array of outdoor activities created with your teenager in mind. Our programs aim to funnel your adolescent’s energy into constructive activities that incorporate education, teamwork and the outdoors in a safe, positive and exciting way.

Our youth trips range from single-day trips to five-day camping expeditions packed with climbing, rafting, hiking and much more. Your adolescent can join our certified guides and a group of other city teens on any number of different trips — from horseback riding, backpacking and rock climbing to paintball and whitewater rafting. We even offer skiing and snowshoeing to keep your child active during the cold, snowy months.

Our experienced trip leaders will provide guidance to your teenager and teach them the skills necessary to successfully complete the activity and build their confidence. Once you drop your child off with us, everything is taken care of, from activity fees and transportation to equipment and loads of fun.

Campers of the Week!

Every day we feature a camper of the day for our summer youth program.

Youth Whitewater Rafting

Join other New York youth on a ride down the thrill-packed Lehigh River Gorge during dam-release weekends. The Army Corps of Engineers frees thousands of gallons of water, and we’re going to ride it!

Surrounded by state-park-protected woodlands and mountains, you will enjoy 12 miles and five hours of Class I, II and III rafting and outstanding scenery. Within the deep gorge, you’ll ride down through thick vegetation on the steep walls, rock outcroppings and waterfalls! Naturalist and painter John James Audubon visited this area to paint birds. You will see a great diversity of plants and animals: great blue herons, mergansers, kingfishers and beavers are common river residents. In summer, the Lehigh Gorge Trail is a great place to see snakes, fence lizards and warblers, especially black-and-white and magnolia warblers.

No experience necessary! We’ll paddle over 17 rapids, stopping to rest along the way. We provide lifejackets, wetsuites, booties, gloves, rafts and shuttle service to and from the river. Your guide will brief you on the do’s and don’t’s and also basic whitewater rafting skills. Lunch is included!

Youth Paintball

Come play paintball with other New York youth on 50 amazing wooded fields (700 acres) for the ultimate survival day! There are also 2 castles on the property, so you can really play
